Well, well, well!
Darb 1718 is organizing a workshop about “Recycled Fashion Design” for Egypt’s budding artists.
The workshop with span over two months and will provide students with the skills needed to create fashionably trendy pieces without the need of any pattern making or machine stitching experience.
The method, which has become famous worldwide (as featured by Desigual from Spain) is called Custo. The wonderful Ana Secco will teach participants all about utilizing second hand clothing and accessories to create a fashion statement.
The workshop will be a valuable learning opportunity to anyone who is interested in the fashion field with an environmental twist of creativity. Each student is expected to create a personal collection to be presented at a fashion, photography and make up show at Darb 1718 on the 29th of June 2010.
Everyone who has studied art or design or has worked in the art or fashion field is encouraged to join. Commitment, team work, project realization (under supervision) and enthusiasm are a must for all participants.
The workshop is free of charge and will be held every Sunday and Tuesday between 11 am until 5 pm starting on the 21st of March.
It will be held in English, Arabic and Spanish.
Applications have been closed, but we will be the first to know if they have more openings after the selection is done on the received applications.
